It happened at a construction site over the weekend.
Whitehorse are RCMP working with partner agencies to investigate a suspicious fire that happened at a construction site over the weekend.
Whitehorse RCMP and Whitehorse Fire Department were called to assist at a building on fire on Wann Road, in Porter Creek on June 26 around 12:30 in the morning.
Information gathered at the scene lead investigators to believe that the fire was suspicious. The Fire Marshall, the Whitehorse RCMP General Investigations Section, and several other specialized units were contacted to help in gathering evidence and figuring out the cause of the fire
"Working with our partners on investigations like this highlights the good work that so many people do to keep Whitehorse safe," stated Whitehorse Detachment Operations Support Corporal Brent Edwards. "We are relieved that there were no injuries to witnesses, first responders, or the general public."
Anyone who may have witnessed anything are being asked to contact Whitehorse RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
