The arrangements finalize 17 years of work.
Both the Vuntut Gwitch'in First Nation and the Tr'ondek Hwech'in First Nation have a tentative agreement on resolving overlapping of traditional territories in northern Yukon.
The agreement would define what traditional territory is exclusive to each First Nation, as well as guide future use and management of the resolved overlapping area.
The two First Nations have been attempting to settle this matter since 1999.
VGFN is current consulting its citizens on the proposed agreements, while the Tr'ondek Hwech'in has approved the resolutions.
