Police arrested a 32-year-old man trying to take gun on flight bound for Vancouver.
Whitehorse RCMP say just before 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, they were called to the Whitehorse Airport where a man had attempted to board a plane to Vancouver with an undeclared firearm in his checked luggage.
31-year-old Abdirizak Mohamed Sahal, was arrested and is facing charges for unauthorized possession of a firearm and tampering with a serial number on a firearm.
The firearm, which was not loaded, was seized by police.
He appeared in court on the yesterday afternoon and has been remanded into custody, pending his next court appearance.
