Yukon Supreme Court Justice Leigh Gower passed away over the weekend.
Tributes have poured in regarding the recent passing of former Supreme Court Justice Leigh Gower.
One tribute came from Minister Mcphee, who says that she is "deeply saddened by the sudden death of Justice Leigh Gower. Beyond being a respected lawyer, jurist, actor and family man he was above all a kind and decent human being and his absence leaves a profound void in both our legal system and in our hearts".
Yukon MP Larry Bagnell also offered his thoughts, saying "Leigh was a sharp legal mind and a long-standing member of the bar in the Yukon... I offer my condolences to Leigh's wife and family. This is a terrible loss for the Yukon, our legal community, and the bench."
Gower was appointed in 2003 to the Supreme Court, and moved to the Yukon in 1991 while simultaneously becoming a lawyer.
News of the passing occurred in the legislative assembly on October 29th and Gower was one of three local Yukon Supreme Court judges.
