The placer mining company found guilty of violating two Yukon Waters Act charges, is appealing.
In May Tamarack Gold was found to be in breech of its water licence, in that it did not prevent or report that 1.5 gallons of gasoline was poured on to a dredge pond and ignited in October 2014.
Fines levied against Tamarack Gold totaled $25,000. In appeal documents, Tamarack Gold says the fines should be reduced, claiming the offenses were minor.

The incident was filmed and aired as Discovery Channel's Gold Rush TV series.
