The June 4, crash killed Ken Baker of Carcross
The survivor of a fatal car crash earlier this year near Squanga Lake is suing the unknown driver.
In June, driver Ken Baker and passenger Arthur Joe were travelling along the Alaska Highway when a metal winch boomer device from a semi-tractor trailer broke loose and went through the windshield striking and killing the 58-year-old Baker. Joe suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Joe is suing for negligence in the accident.
During the police investigation, officers were unable to identify the person responsible, as the driver of the tractor may have unaware of the incident.
Joe is seeking costs for damages and court fees.
