The evacuation alert for the Stewart Crossing area has been rescinded.
The alert covered an area including a 5 kilometer area around Stewart Crossing, 12 km south-east up to an including Ethel Lake Road, east to residences around Ethel Lake, and 5 km north of the Silver Trail highway.
According to Diarmuid Donavan, director of Yukon Emergency Measures Organization, the threat from the wildland fire in the area has been reduced by firefighting efforts in the area, aided by favourable weather conditions.
The evacuation alert was issued on September 11, 2019.
