Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Minister Ahmed Hussen visited Whitehorse to exemplify the Federal Liberal party's progress in improved wait times and drastically reduced back logs in immigration.
Ranj Pillai, Yukon's minister of Economic Developement was on hand to boast Yukon's success stories, such as the 2700 immigrants received since 2005 which attracted investment and filled labour shortages.

The Phillipines, India, Japan, German, China and Korea are the majority countries of orgin as Minister Pillai highlights the non-economic benefits received by the host territory.
Ahmed Hussen, who is originally from Mogadishu, Somalia, held a less formal community meeting after the media briefing.
