Mayor Dan Curtis presented a check in the amount of $6,360 this morning to the Whitehorse Food Bank and Kaushee’s Place, as part of the annual Food for Fines campaign. The City of Whitehorse raised $2,635 in food donations, for a grand total of $8,995.

In addition, the City of Whitehorse raised $2,635 in food donations, for a grand total of $8,995. That represents a significant increase over last year’s total of $6,535.

The Food for Fines campaign gives the option of donating cash or food of equal value to a parking ticket. Parking meter ticket fines received between November 28 and December 5 were eligible, and donations were accepted until December 9.
