The fire that has been raging for 2 weeks has been contained but not extinguished.
Windy Arm Wildfire
The Windy arm fire, 12 km SE of Carcross remains noteworthy as it's larger than 1000 hectares and has caused smokey conditions in Yukon's southern lake regions.
The fire ignited by lighting on August 6th has continued to grow but has been fought with helicopter and Air tankers.
Operation Ignition, took place on Thursday where crews tactically burned fuels near the mouth of Lime creek, ceasing growth north and south east.
There is no threat to communities or infrastructures in the area.
