Dylan Cozens will play centre for Team Cherry at the CHL Top Prospects Game.
National Hockey League scouts and fans will be out to view the nations best junior players at the 24th annual Sherwin-Williams CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game.
Born and raised Yukoner, Dylan Cozens made the roster. Cozens is a well rounded centremen who is likely to go in the NHL draft in the first round this year, with a high probability to be top 5.
He is one of 40 players chosen for the prospects game in Red Deer, AB on Jan 23 with the roster made up of players from the WHL, OHL, QMJHL.
2017/18 rookie of the year, 6'3" Cozens - at 17 years of age, has had an outstanding draft year playing centre for the Lethbridge Hurricanes notching up 55 points in 39 games so far.
Team Cherry is coached this year by Ron McLean, Dave Hunter and Brent Sutter, while Team Orr will have Kelly Hrudey, Robyn Regehr and Marc Habscheid behind the bench.
Two other players from Whitehorse have played in the NHL before; Bryon Baltimore played two games for the Edmonton Oilers in '79 and Peter Sturgeon was drafter 36th overall in 1974 by the Boston Bruins.
