Yukon's Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Brendan Hanley reported no new cases of COVID in the territory at this weeks COVID Update.
The weekly COVID Updates are adjusted slightly because of the election. Dr. Hanley says the updates will take on more of a technical nature for the next few weeks.
The recent outbreak at the Silvertip mine has settled down and no new cases have been reported recently. Yukon's most significant concern now is the importation and spread of variants.
COVID Variants are now known to spread more quickly and cause more severe symptoms in younger adults and children. Also, a major concern is growing over the effectiveness of the current vaccines against the variants.
