The announcement about the service cut came on November 19th.
Air North has decided to axe it's Whitehorse/Yellowknife/Ottawa route for non-peak travel times of the year.
In a press release, the company blamed rising fuel costs and low ridership demand as reasons for the cut.
The cuts will begin in early January after the Christmas and New Year rush, and according to President of Air North Joseph Sparling, summer schedules are loaded and ready for customers to book.
The route will begin its summer service again on June 15th of next year until September 1st of 2019.
Air North is 49% owned by the Vuntut Development Corporation and 51% owned by Joseph Sparling.
Air North started operations in 1977.
