Tyrell Sidney, 45, and William Johnson, 61, both from the Yukon, face numerous charges, including theft, robbery, and possession of stolen property.
The Whitehorse RCMP has announced the arrest of two males involved in a string of vehicle thefts across the city.
On September 21, 2025, the police received multiple complaints of thefts from vehicles in various parking lots, prompting a rapid investigation.
According to a media release, the investigation took a dramatic turn when a person confronted two masked males stealing gas from the back of his truck, with one suspect wielding a machete-style knife. Whitehorse officers arrived quickly and pursued the suspects in an off-road vehicle at a low rate of speed into a wooded area in the Riverdale subdivision. Both individuals were safely arrested.
Tyrell Sidney, 45, and William Johnson, 61, both from the Yukon, face numerous charges, including theft, robbery, and possession of stolen property. Sidney also faces charges related to impaired driving and failing to comply with probation orders.
The Police said both individuals appeared in court and were remanded. Sidney is scheduled to appear again on October 8, while Johnson is set to appear today, September 24.
