The driver returning from Edmonton to Whitehorse had been behind the wheel for 23 hours.
A Yukon fuel producer has been fined $1100 in court for its role in a gasoline spill near Rancheria in August which closed the Alaska Highway.
Pacesetter Fuels pleaded guilty to two charges this week, which included allowing its driver involved in the crash to drive too long.
At the time of the incident, the driver was returning to Whitehorse from Edmonton, but had been driving for approximately 23 straight hours.
The court heard that the driver was falsifying his log book to avoid regulations.
Trucking regulations allow for a maximum of 15 hours of driving, followed by a mandatory eight hours off.
