Former Whitehorse City Councilor Duke Connelly has been described as having a no hold barred to business...
Duke Connelly was 89 when he passed away recently at the Copper-Ridge Ridge long term care facility.
Former Whitehorse Mayor Ernie Bourassa says Connelly will be remembered for not being afraid to state his opinion.
Mayor Bourassa was mayor for 6 years from 200 to 2006 when Connelly served on council.
Meanwhile Whitehorse City councilors are looking at reducing the speed limit on 2nd ave in downtown noting the number of accidents involving both vehicles and pedestrians.
Some councilors say they speed limit should be lowered from 50 to 40 kilometres an hour..., others say speed reduction is not the answer but rather enforcement and education.
