The accident closed down the highway for over six hours last night.
A news release by Whitehorse RCMP says two people have died following a collision at kilometre 25 of the North Klondike Highway yesterday.
The collision involved a Dodge Ram pickup and a Ford F-150 pickup just before six p.m yesterday near the Lake Laberge campground.
A 52-year-old and 81-year-old man are confirmed to be deceased.
The Dodge Ram truck was on fire as emergency crews arrived according to police, and a 55-year old female passenger was pulled from the burning vehicle by a passerby. She was transported to Whitehorse General Hospital for further treatment.
Yukon RCMP are still investigating the cause of the accident after a traffic analyst analyzed the collision scene along the highway.
The highway was closed in both direction to traffic from 6:30 yesterday to 1am this morning and the Yukon Coroner's Service are now leading the investigation.
