Whitehorse Correctional Centre Inspector Granted More Time

The inspection is to focus on improving programs and services for inmates with mental health issues.

The person inspecting the Whitehorse Correctional Centre has been granted more time.

Justice Minister Tracy McPhee says that David Loukidelis now has until May 15 to complete his final report and provide any recommendations to the government.

McPhee says the terms of reference remains unchanged.

The independent inspection began in January on how to improve policies and programs for inmates with mental health issues. The report will be made public sometime this summer.
