Adäka Cultural Festival is back on after it got COVID canceled last year.

This year’s celebration of Yukon indigenous arts and culture will take place partly in person and partly online.

Today, organizers released a sneak peek of what you can expect for five-day event.

There will be storytelling and cultural presentations by Elders and leaders, music from The Yukon Jack Band and Friends, a youth drum making workshop with Dennis Shorty and Jennifer Froehling, and much more.

Festival producer Katie Johnson says this year is a milestone.

“This year we will be celebrating our tenth year anniversary. We’re going to have a COVID safe festival. So, our priority is the safety of not just the artists and people participating, but any Yukoners that would like to be a part of this year’s festival.” Says Johnson.

The festival will take place from June 25 to 30.
