    Blake Lepine is a Yukon visual artist. He is hosting the Drum Down Cultural Night at the Kwanlin Dun Cultural Centre on February 5th, 2020. Everyone is welcome to join in the celebrations and participate in music, art, personal projects, and fellowship. Elders and artisans will be available to help with personal projects. The event is a cultural celebration so expect lots of music and drum circles.

    • Yukon Chamber of Commerce Pleased with WCB Assessment Rates

      The Yukon Chamber of Commerce notes that the rates for three of the eight non-government rate groups containing about 2,500 employers remain unchanged and the rates for the other five rate groups containing about 1,000 employers all go down for 2021.

      The in-season counts from Pilot Sonar, located in Alaska near the mouth, indicate that it is highly unlikely that the lower end of the fall chum spawning escapement goals will be met this year. Pilot sonar has estimated 189,000 fall chum this season compared to an average of almost 895,000.
