    Angelique Bernard is the Commissioner of Yukon. The Commissioners Levee takes place every year on January 1st. This year is the first time the Order of Yukon is being presented to recipients. Everyone is welcome to attend at the Kwanlin Dunn Cultural Centre between 2pm and 5pm on Wednesday, January 1st, 2020.     • Yukon Chamber of Commerce Pleased with WCB Assessment Rates

      The Yukon Chamber of Commerce notes that the rates for three of the eight non-government rate groups containing about 2,500 employers remain unchanged and the rates for the other five rate groups containing about 1,000 employers all go down for 2021.

      The in-season counts from Pilot Sonar, located in Alaska near the mouth, indicate that it is highly unlikely that the lower end of the fall chum spawning escapement goals will be met this year. Pilot sonar has estimated 189,000 fall chum this season compared to an average of almost 895,000.
