The 2nd annual Bead, Hide & Fur Symposium is taking place March 6th - 8th at the Kwanlin Dunn Cultural Centre in Whitehorse. The two-and-a-half-day symposium and workshop is open to Indigenous fine craft artists who work with natural materials. All participants are encouraged to bring completed works of art for Show and Share. Deadline for registration is Monday February 10, 2020. Northwestel - Complete Failure of Communications Systems in Yukon and Northern BC
Mobile networks, Wireless and long distance services completely failed for several hours on Saturday, July 12th evening and during the night.
Preliminary Plan for 2020-21 School Year Released
All students in Rural schools will return to full-day in-class instruction five days per week. In Whitehorse, Kindergarten to Grade 9 students will also return to full-day, in-class instruction. Grades 10 to 12 students will return to half-day in-class instruction and half-day learning away from school.
