    The year 2020 marks the 100th anniversary of Aviation In Yukon. On August 16th, 1920, two aircraft landed in Whitehorse on their way from New York to Nome. The next day they flew to Dawson City. Janna Swales is the Executive Director of the Yukon Transportation Museum who will be hosting celebration events an activities throughout the year. Joe Sparling is Air North Founder, President and CEO. Listen to Janna and Joe speak about Yukon's aviation history and future after a century of aviation in the Yukon.

    • Yukon Chamber of Commerce Pleased with WCB Assessment Rates

      The Yukon Chamber of Commerce notes that the rates for three of the eight non-government rate groups containing about 2,500 employers remain unchanged and the rates for the other five rate groups containing about 1,000 employers all go down for 2021.

      The in-season counts from Pilot Sonar, located in Alaska near the mouth, indicate that it is highly unlikely that the lower end of the fall chum spawning escapement goals will be met this year. Pilot sonar has estimated 189,000 fall chum this season compared to an average of almost 895,000.
