Elaine Shorty started her radio career as one of the first set of 6 radio trainees on Northern Native Broadcasting in 1981. After a year of training and being the first voice on the airwaves of NNBY, Elaine decided to enroll in BCIT’s Radio Broadcast Communications program. She graduated in 1985.
Elaine is no stranger to CHON-FM. In the past she has hosted the morning show, request show, and afternoon drive.
Elaine is hosting a 2 hour program called “Indigenous Connections” on Mondays, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 AM to 11 AM. The show will feature human interest stories, light-hearted, entertaining and Elaine will pay special attention to community connections.
