    Yukon Government Appoints Six New Yukon College Board of Governors

    One new governor includes include Kwanlin Dun First Nation citizen and member of the Order of Canada Judy Gingell.

    Yukon Government has appointed six new Yukon College Board of Governors.

    New board governors include Kwanlin Dun First Nation citizen and member  of the Order of Canada Judy Gingell, Tol Ullyett, Jocelyn Curteanau, Chris Milner, Eric Jun Hyeok Kim And Ernest Prokopchuk.

    The board now has two First Nations Reps to help set and govern the college's mission and strategic plans, with one First Nations representative role still needing to be filled.

    President of Yukon College Karen Barnes says "This is a very exciting time for the College that will translate into interesting work for the Board. This Board of Governors will oversee the transition of Yukon College to Yukon University. We appreciate their willingness to place their experience and perspectives in service of Yukon students"

    The appointed governors typically hold terms of up to three years and board members must reside in Yukon for at least one year prior to their appointment.

    Three First Nations members, three Community Campus members, three members-at-large, one and student representative and the College president all make up the Yukon College Board of Governors.
