YESAB Give Approval to KDFN Gas Station

Project would see carlock gas station near Whitehorse Airport

Yukon's environmental assessor is giving its approval for the Kwanlin Dun First Nation to construct a cardlock gas station near the Whitehorse airport on the Alaska Highway.

The proposal would be to build a 100,000 litre above ground fuel storage tank.

The Yukon Environmental and Socio-Economic Assessment Board has determined the project will most likely not have negative environmental and socio-economic impacts.

Area residents were concerned about losing valuable green space, walking trails and the potential for a fuel spill.
