$15 million in both YG and Federal funds for new pipes and upgrades to lift stations.
The City of Dawson is getting $15 million in government funding to construct a new pumphouse, with water treatment equipment.
The upgrade is to ensure safe drinking water. Construction is expected to begin on two water and wastewater projects this spring, by twinning Dawson's water sewer lines and the replacement pipes to avoid interruptions.
Work on the second project includes the replacement of the York Street lift station, upgrades to the city's other lift stations, and improvements to the wastewater lines in downtown Dawson.
The second project also includes the replacement of the Craig Street hydraulic tower, which is planned for construction in 2019.
