Ross River Dena Council announces candidates in upcoming election

There are some familiar names on the list.

The Ross River Dena Council has announced the candidates in the running to form the new chief and council.

 

In the race for chief is incumbent Jack Caesar, who was first elected in 2015, and current councillor Dylan Loblaw. They will be running against Teddy Charlie, Gordon Dick, Marie Eshleman, and Clifford McLeod.

 

12 people have thrown their hat in the ring to become one of four councillors. Jenny Caesar and Verna Nukon are hoping to hold on to their position as they compete for votes alongside John Atkinson, Minnie Besner, Pat Atkinson, Robert Mason Dick, David Magill, Roberta Dick, Victoria Medcalfe, Dorothy Smith, Louie Tommy, and Jimmy Smith.

 

The Ross River Dena Council will head to the polls on March 14.
